Life and Chocolate

My momma always said, “Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”
Forrest Gump (1994)

As a child, I looked forward to bedtime because my dreams were vivid, entertaining and rarely repeated performances.  Sometimes, visual masterpieces appeared floating in mid air.  Even now, when I’m lying in bed attempting to fall asleep, I watch as countless images flash in front of my eyes.  They can be fleeting or slow moving, with apparent significance or without.  Such is life through the eyes of clairvoyance.  You never know what you’re gonna get.

The other day, I found myself looking at a vision of clouds that formed curious and fantastic shapes.  The clouds were soft, fluffy and pastel coloured.  As I watched, they pulled together to form the head of a ferocious dragon.  The picture was so striking, I’d wished that I’d had a ‘print’ button on my head to capture the image on a piece of paper.  Tapping into the gifts of clairvoyance, clairaudience or clairsentience is like becoming a radio or television set and picking up on random or meaningful waves or messages through the air.

Years ago, I caught the flu and became feverish.  However, my spirits soared when I started hallucinating.  Instead of worrying about my health, I simply laid back on my pillow and watched as fascinating images appeared.  At one point, I found myself in furrowed ground, from a worm’s eye view, looking up from the dirt to a house in the distance.  There were a few blades of grass nearby that seemed as big as trees.  As I continued to watch, I found myself observing the construction of an office tower.  Every brick was a made of a series of numbers.  The entire construction was a mathematical design that seemed to make sense to me at the time.  When the building was fully constructed, I found myself in a white office with a large dark mahogany desk and a single char.  The back of the chair grew into a totem pole with intricate designs that reached to the ceiling.  It was all very beautiful and extremely ornate.  Continuing to watch, the image melted down into numbers.  As it faded away, it occurred to me that everything in life is mathematical.

On August 1st, I saw a vision appear in front of my eyes that looked like an average American city then the word “dRated’ flashed and faded.  The letters appeared as hand-written and white on a black background.  I couldn’t imagine what this meant until the USA ‘s credit rating was downgraded by Standard and Poor and ‘dRated’ from a AAA to AA rating on  August 5th.  My guess was that we were in for some tough times economically, perhaps another recession.  However, I always remind myself that the thing to focus on is staying positive, rising above adversity, and helping others along the way.  Every day I am reminded that the physical world is really a school designed to present challenges in different shapes and sizes.  In this way, life really is like a box of chocolates.  However, it’s how you respond to what you get, in a spiritual sense, that matters most.  Growth of consciousness is the immediate task at hand.
