Emotion and Meditation

“So what is a good meditator?
The one who meditates.”  Allan Lokos

In the comments section of my Blog, people share some heart-wrenching stories about relationship challenges and break-ups. In deep emotional pain, they’ve asked, “How can I connect with my soul mate or twin flame in spirit?”

Sadly, many people begin to pray or meditate only when they’re desperate. Prayer and meditation are their last resort, a final attempt to connect with a loved one on the astral plane or receive comfort and higher guidance.  My heart goes out to all who suffer in love.  It seems to be epidemic.

The truth is, it’s virtually impossible to meditate when you’re emotionally upset. Heavy emotions that are filled with sorrow, loneliness, and desperation are like a thick cloud that block your channel.  When you’re upset, the Angels and your spiritual guides can’t connect with you to provide the much desired comfort or advice because you’ve unintentionally created an emotional wall that blocks them out.

Thoughts are things.  If you do succeed in meditating while you’re upset, your emotions can sometimes distort your experience. Human minds are very creative so wishful thinking can seem like higher guidance, when it’s not. We can too easily imagine seeing a vision of what we want to see but later become disappointed when our vision doesn’t manifest into reality.

There’s a big different between using your imagination and actually seeing a vision of the future. Visions of the future tend to appear out-of-nowhere, when you least expect, and when you’re not thinking about that particular topic.

In contrast, if you’re wishing your ex-lover back in your life, and see yourself with them again in your mind’s eye, it may simply be your imagination. Generally speaking, disturbed emotions and distracted minds shut the lid on your spiritual gifts.  Techniques like Full Immersion into Spirit clear away mental, emotional and spiritual blocks so your spiritual gifts can surface into your awareness.  When you’re emotionally calm you can more easily achieve a deep meditative state and in this state, your channel will begin to open, you’ll more easily connect to your higher self, your spiritual guides, and ALL becomes possible.

One key to meditation is to set your intention ahead of time then let go of that intention and trust that divinity will guide you. Close your eyes, relax, and go into the stillness to achieve internal focused awareness. Take a deep breath, hold it for a moment, and slowly breath-out to relax your muscles. Focus on the coolness of your in-breath and the warmth of your out-breath, while imagining yourself in a beautiful natural setting with sunlight, green trees, water and nature all around. Count backwards slowly from 100 to go deeper. You can imagine relaxing every muscle, from the tips of your toes, to the top of your head.

These are all techniques to help you relax and lose yourself in meditation. Once you have relaxed sufficiently, you’ll can take yourself deeper into trance by relaxing more. At that point, just be open and allow yourself to be guided. Your soul will take you where you need to go.  Desperate grasping rarely works.  Instead, have no expectations. Trust, trust, trust! Know that your higher self, your spiritual guides, and God will take you where you need to go, and provide emotional, mental and spiritual healing at the same time.  Enjoy a taste of Full Immersion into Spirit.  Relax and enjoy a successful meditation!
