Statistics on Obesity and Dementia:

When you look at the research, Obesity, related health issues such as Heart Disease and Diabetes, plus the numbers of people with Dementia and Alzheimer’s are rising sharply.  For example, Stats Canada reported in 2014, 20.2% of Canadians aged 18 and older, roughly 5.3 million adults were classified as obese. “The rate of obesity among men increased to 21.8% in 2014 from 20.1% in 2013, and is the highest obesity rate for men reported since 2003 (in 2003, 16.0% of males were obese). Among women, the rate of obesity in 2014 (18.7%) was an increase over 2013 and also up significantly from 2003 when it was 14.5%.”

In Canada, as of 2016, there are an estimated 564,000 Canadians living with dementia – plus about 25,000 new cases diagnosed every year. By 2031, that number is expected to rise to 937,000, an increase of 66 per cent.

“Health-care systems are ill-equipped to deal with the staggering costs.  As of 2016, Canada’s combined health-care system and out-of-pocket caregiver costs are estimated at $10.4 billion per year. By 2031, this figure is expected to increase by 60 per cent, to $16.6 billion.  Roughly 56,000 Canadians with dementia are being cared for in hospitals, even though this in not an ideal location for care.”

A Quick Fix:

On a Tedx Talk, Neal Barnard, M.D., FACC  revealed research showing how Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Brain Fog resulted from consuming just 25g of Saturated Fats per day and 25g of Trans Fats per day.  Where is all this fat coming from?

Dr. Neal explained that, even if you’re genetically predisposed to Dementia or Alzheimer’s, you can avoid these diseases by taking the following steps:

  • Eat Colourful Fruits & Vegetables (e.g. Blueberries, Mangos, Colourful Peppers, Lots of Greens, Tomatoes)
  • Eat Legumes, Nuts, Seeds
  • Walk 40min 3 times/week
  • Stop using Cast Iron & Copper Pipes and multi-vitamins with copper and iron, because these metals are actually toxic to your brain if you already consume them in food.

Indeed, if you eat plant-based whole foods, avoid processed sugar, simple carbs, and fried foods, plus get regular exercise, your body will look and feel better.  Scientists have also found that your skin colour reflects what you’re eating.  A bland diet creates a pale skin colour.  Colourful fruits and vegetables put nutrients, anti-oxidants, and more colour in your face.

When you implement these positive changes, there are no guarantees you’ll meet your twin flame.  However, like attracts like.  When you take care of your body, mind, and spirit, you stand a far better chance of attracting someone who’s also taking good care of themselves!  With your healthy minds and bodies combined, you can both look and feel better, plus you’ll have more energy to fulfill your life’s purpose.  Enjoy!
